Angus (played by Jesse Bradford) is a slightly introverted teenager. One day, he happened to come across a Labrador puppy on the road. Angus took the puppy home and named it Yale. Little did they know that Yale's existence was strongly opposed by the Angus family. His father, John (played by Bruce Davison), was even preparing to send Yale to an animal protection center. Ultimately, at Angus' repeated pleadings, Yale stayed in the family and became a member of it. One day, Angus took Yale and set sail with his father. Little did they know that they encountered a hurricane and the ship capsized. In the end, only John was rescued. Angus and Yale were missing. In fact, they were not swallowed by the sea but drifted to a deserted island.
