In an obscure tavern in Paris, there is a melancholy and lonely piano accompanist, Charlie Kohler (played by Charles Aznavour). His life is simple and monotonous. The passionate tavern waitress Lina (played by Marie Dubois) was charmed by Charlie's talent and fell in love with him. It turned out that Charlie was once a renowned pianist of great fame. After his wife committed suicide, he changed his name and lived here. Lina encouraged him to rediscover himself and step onto the stage. One day, however, his long-lost younger brother, Chiko Saloyan (played by Albert Remy), entered his life while fleeing from the pursuit of his gangster enemies. Charlie helped his younger brother escape from his enemy's pursuit, but unexpectedly got involved in this cruel life-and-death escape. Fortune did not favor Lina, who shared life and death with Charlie. In the fierce battle, Lina was unfortunately shot dead. Charlie returned to the tavern of the past once again. Everything went back to the beginning, but people and things had changed. The black-and-white film "The Shooting Pianist", directed by French film master Francois Truffaut, is adapted from the novel by American author David Goodes.[Collapse]
