The film takes the life story of Yuchi Gong, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty, as its main thread, depicting his entire military life. The film portrays Yuchi Gong as a man of loyalty to the monarch, love for the people, and love for his wife and children, as well as his bravery, benevolence and righteousness, and his ability to protect the local area. He guarded the frontier for several years without exception, successively defeating Wang Shichong, Dou Jiande, Liu Heita, Xu Yuanlang and others. He made significant contributions during the Xuanwu Gate Incident and became one of the meritorious officials for the founding of the Tang Dynasty.
