The story takes place in Newcastle in the north of England. Due to the subprime mortgage crisis, Ricky (played by Kris Hitchen) not only lost his job but also was burdened with a huge amount of debt. To make a living, Ricky took out a loan to buy a small truck, planning to start his second career by delivering goods. Little did he know that this thoughtless move of his would cause irreparable harm to the entire family. Ricky's wife, Abby (played by Debbie Honeywood), is a domestic worker who specializes in serving the disabled and the elderly. Now, she has to rely on buses to travel between different employers' homes, which makes her feel extremely exhausted. In order to pay off the loan for the truck, Ricky has to spend more time on work, which makes their eldest son Seb (played by Rhys Stone) feel neglected.[Collapse]
