Nixon (played by Frank Langella) stepped down after the Watergate scandal but never admitted his mistakes to the public and owed an apology to the American people. Foster (played by Michael Sheen) is a British playboy who hosts a talk show in Australia. When he saw Nixon leave the White House by helicopter during a live broadcast, he developed the idea of interviewing him and decided to put it into practice. No one had expectations of Foster. No TV company was willing to pay for his interviews. His friend John (played by Matthew Macfadyen) invited the well-known journalist Bob (played by Oliver Platt) and James, who had a deep understanding of Nixon, to form a team. Start data mining. Foster paid the initial interview fee out of his own pocket, got the chance to meet Nixon, and set the dates for consecutive interviews. The team worked hard to prepare questions in order to force Nixon to confess in the interview. Nixon's think tank was also busily preparing to respond, and they never took Foster seriously.
