Treasure of Matecumbe is a film released by Disney in 1976. It is an adventure-themed work. The plot of "Treasure Hunter" is adapted from the novel "A Journey to Matecumbe" by Robert Lewis Taylor. The story background takes place in Kentucky, USA, after the American Civil War. Young Davie Burnie unexpectedly learned of a major secret passed down from generation to generation in his family, which was a treasure map leading to the mysterious Matecumbe treasure. Deep in the wild Florida, this long-lost treasure was buried. Thus, young Davie embarked on his treasuring journey. He traveled with four companions, namely Jim, Lauriette Paxton, Thad and Dr. Ewing T. Snodgrass. However, Spangler, the sworn enemy of Davie's father during his lifetime, was also eyeing the Matecumbe treasure with greed, waiting for an opportunity to seize it. Moreover, there were various threats such as hurricanes, Indians, and swamps awaiting them. They had to overcome all the dangers one by one to find the mysterious treasure.
