The film is adapted from a true story. It tells the story of white doctor Alfred Brarak (played by Alan Rickman) and his black partner Vivin Thomas (played by Mos Def) who break racial boundaries and work together to pioneer heart surgery and become pioneers in heart surgery. Doctor Bralak was ambitious and had a unique perspective in his career. He discovered Thomas's talent in medicine and began to impart medical knowledge to him. At first, Thomas used dogs as experimental subjects. With his extraordinary talent, he soon mastered the skills of medical theory and surgical practice. Together, they overcame Tetralogy of Fallot (also known as cyanotic baby), but he did not disclose Thomas' contribution to it. When Thomas was treated unfairly because of his skin color, he chose to remain silent. The two are both masters and servants, teachers and friends. During their 34-year collaboration, they have maintained this delicate friendship. When Thomas was finally recognized and awarded the prize, he silently gazed at the portrait of Doctor Blerak, with tears streaming down his face.[Collapse]
