The story takes place at the end of World War II in a small town in Sicily. The residents are all immersed in a warm and festive atmosphere. Taking advantage of this break, the devil disguised himself and sneaked into the home of the town's photo studio owner, Cestino (played by Gennaro Pisano), asking to stay. The kind-hearted Cestino received him. The devil cast a spell on a camera in the Cestino store, and all those captured by this camera would die.
