After reading the original work, Rimi Ishihara developed the idea of performing it on stage. Director Jung Eui-shin was a stage play director she really liked. Eventually, she successfully facilitated this collaboration as she had wished. "Secret Crystal" is adapted from the novel of the same name by Akutagawa Prize-winning author Yoko Ogawa. The story is set on an isolated island and tells of the tales among people in an abnormal world where flowers, birds, books, and more are gradually disappearing.
