One of the best Anti-Japanese War propaganda films produced by Hollywood during World War II. Director Howard truthfully filmed the story of the US Air Force B-17 bomber "Marianne" and the members of the bomb crew related to it. The "political consciousness" of the entire film is very distinct, but it does not affect the development of the story. The dialogue written by screenwriter Dudley is concise and powerful. The arrangement of many scenes reflects his respect for the Air Force. The combat action scenes are highly precise, intense and thrilling.[Collapse]
