The three brothers haven't been in touch with each other for a year since their father's funeral. The eldest brother, Francis (played by Owen Wilson), plans a meticulous trip to India and tells his younger brothers that this is to rediscover himself and the affection among them. Although not enthusiastic about this trip, the second child Peter (played by Adrien Brody) and the third child Jack (played by Jason Schwartzman), who were trying to escape their respective bad lives, still agreed to Francis' plan. The three brothers embarked on a hilarious journey across India by luxury train and collected strange souvenirs from various places along the way. Finally, after flirting with the female train attendant, releasing the cobra bought as a souvenir and getting into a fight on the train, they were thrown off the train along with all their luggage by the train conductor who could no longer tolerate it. Although everything was out of Francis' control, this unplanned change brought the three brothers even closer to the true purpose of this trip... The film was in the main competition of the 64th Venice Film Festival.[Collapse]
