An extramarital love affair led to the tragic lives of two generations. Kiyoko Nozomi (played by Hiromi Nagasaka) was unable to obtain the body and heart of her lover and was forced to kill the child in her womb. On a day of heavy downpour, having lost all hope, Hikari walked into her lover's home and took away their infant daughter, Erika. In the years that followed, she took her "daughter" Xun to various places, all in search of a peaceful place for them to settle down and make a living. Years have passed since then. As an adult, Erika (played by Mako Inoue) has gone through all kinds of life, and it seems that she is on the same path as her "mother" Hikari. No matter how reluctant she was to look back, she still followed the guidance of fate to recall the short but wonderful time spent with Hikari... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by Mitsuyo Kakuta and won the 5th place in the 2011 Kinema Junpo Top 10 Awards, the Best Actress Award (Hiromi Nagasaka), and the Best Supporting Actress Award (Eiko Koike). The Best Film Award and Best Actress Award at the 36th Baozhi Film Awards.[Collapse]
