The female accountant Yella (played by Nina Hoss) is facing a life crisis and is ina relationship with her violent husband Ben (played by Hinnerk Sch). After her divorce, nemann found a new job at the Alpha Aircraft Factory in Hanover. On the day of departure, Ben, who was eager to win back his ex-wife, came to his door and pestered him, insisting on seeing Yela off to the train station. On the way, the two had a fierce argument. Ben, in a fit of rage, broke the bridge railing and drove the car into the river. Yela, who had climbed ashore, disregarded her wet body and Ben beside her, and carried her bag towards the railway station. However, misfortune struck. The supervisor who had introduced her to the company was fired, and Yella's job was once again out of reach. By chance, Yela met Philip (played by Devid Striesow), a venture capital manager, and her life began to take a turn for the better...
