A murder case left banker Andy (Tim? Tim Robbins (played by Tim Robbins) was wrongly imprisoned. The accusation of murdering his wife and her lover will imprison him for life. His first appearance at Shawshank Prison made the prison's "big brother" Red (Morgan? Freeman (played by Morgan Freeman) looks at him in a new light. Red helped him get a stone hammer and a poster of a female star, and the two gradually became close friends through thick and thin. Soon, Andy showed his talent in prison, serving as the prison librarian and using his financial knowledge to help prison officers avoid taxes. This caught the attention of the warden and he was recruited to assist the warden in money laundering. By chance, he learned that a newly imprisoned thief could testify to clear his name of murder. A glimmer of hope was kindled in Andy, who found the warden, hoping that he could help him clear his name. The insidious and hypocritical warden pretended to agree to Andy's request, but behind his back sent someone to kill the thief, extinguishing his only hope of being legally released from prison. Frustrated, Andy did not despair. On a stormy night with lightning and thunder, a prison break plan that had been hidden for decades enabled him to redeem himself and regain his freedom! Under his encouragement and assistance, his old friend Red also bravely ran towards freedom. This film received 10 Oscar nominations in 1995, as well as numerous nominations for the Golden Globe Awards and the Saturn Awards.[Collapse]
