Clara's (played by Mackenzie Foy) mother left her when she was very young. The only thing she left for her daughter was a box containing invaluable treasures. Deroselmeyer (played by Morgan Freeman) is Clara's godfather. At a party he hosted, a mysterious golden thread guided Clara to the key that could open the box. However, Clara was thus transported to a mysterious parallel world. This is a magical world created by Clara's mother. Four Kings each rule their own countries, and the key Clara has longed for lies in the hands of the most evil one among them - Queen Ginger (played by Helen Mirren). Her existence has gradually led this originally peaceful and prosperous world to fall apart.
