The film tells the story of a father and son who are in an adversarial relationship. Both father and son worked at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. They were both experts in the Jewish Code and were both eccentric and quirky eccentrics. Because the father and son had great differences in their attitude towards honor and academic issues, a conflict emerged between the two scholars that had long gone beyond their father-son relationship. The son is a contemporary scholar who loves to pursue fame and fortune, while his father is a very serious and conservative classical scholar. Under his father's stern exterior, he is actually a person who longs for recognition and approval. The conflict between the father and son has never been made public or magnified. However, when the National Prize of Israel was about to be awarded - the highest honor for scholars in Israel - the conflict between the father and son finally erupted, a distressing and fruitless confrontation.[Collapse]
