Noel, a seventeen-year-old boy suffering from leukemia, feels smarter than anyone else and is unwilling to be ordinary and insignificant, submitting to the laws of the majority. Iceland in winter is like a white prison. The frozen rivers conceal his youthful passion and only add to the sense of loneliness in his heart.
