This film is a tribute to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The film is based on the revolutionary heroic deeds and emotional fate of Xiang Yonian and his wife, outstanding sons and daughters of the Communist Party of China in the western part of Fujian Province. With deep and intense strokes, it depicts a group of revolutionary martyrs who fought bravely in the arduous revolutionary war, and reveals a little-known secret about the Red Army's acquisition of the fifth encirclement and suppression plan of the Kuomintang army against the Central Soviet Area. It recreates an important period of history during the Chinese Agrarian Revolutionary War. This film strives to break the previous shooting mode of revolutionary historical films, embodying the creative intention of "being good-looking, realistic and containing revolutionary content". The protagonist, Tong Ge, was a "special department" member of the Communist Party of China in the 1920s and 1930s. He dealt with Bai Xin, the former secretary of the Central Military Commission who betrayed revolutionary leaders such as Peng Pai. He also risked his life to send important intelligence to the Central Red Army in Ruijin about Chiang Kai-shek's fifth encirclement and suppression of the Ruijin revolutionary Base area, enabling the Red Army to break through smoothly. As a lone hero in a special environment, the protagonist, Brother Tong, with his unwavering loyalty to the Party and the revolutionary cause and his deep love for his wife and daughter, composed a magnificent song of blood and fire, love and tears for the world.[Collapse]
