It follows the protagonist, the female village party secretary, as she leads the villagers to shake off poverty and become prosperous. The story tells that after the protagonist Zhao Huijie (played by Fang Qingzhuo) failed in leading the villagers to grow carrots, people began to question her. Facing numerous pressures, she summed up the experiences and lessons learned and finally settled on growing Chinese herbal medicines. Li Yongbo, an entrepreneur who had left the village, returned to his hometown to visit relatives. Zhao Huijie, after much difficulty and repeated persuasion, had many funny moments along the way.
