Retired Moss (played by Brad Dourif) returned to his hometown with scars and military checks, but there was nothing left here except dilapidated houses and farms. Moss set off on a journey to Tukingham to start a business there. In this strange and bizarre little town, Moss soon got to know the talkative young man Eck, Asa (played by Harry Dean Stanton), who disguised himself as a blind pastor to preach and deceive, and his daughter Lily. Moss's neurotic nature finally burst out in this small town filled with Christian slogans.
