Liu Xing (played by Liu Ye), a postgraduate student majoring in physics, goes to a state university in the United States for further study. During his time at school, he is tutored by the renowned professor Jacob. Reese (played by Aidan Quinn). His diligence and outstanding talent soon made him stand out among his peers and he was deeply trusted and appreciated by Professor Reese. Among numerous research topics, Liu Xingdu was particularly fascinated by dark matter. He devoted himself to this study, but unexpectedly, the theory he arrived at conflicted with his mentor's classic Reese model. Liu Xing's paper on dark matter received widespread praise. However, he was so absorbed in his research that he overlooked the existence of campus politics, and his defense was not passed. In a state of extreme depression and indignation, he embarked on a path of no return...
