In Franklin, USA in the 1930s, the Bondurant brothers Forrest (played by Tom Hardy) Howard (played by Jason Clarke) and Jack (played by Shia LaBeouf) are doing well in the private wine business and are somewhat famous in the local area. However, the real local gang leader is Floyd Banner (played by Gary Oldman). Forrest's bar has recruited a new waitress, Maggie Beauford (played by Jessica Chastain). Jack, on the other hand, fell in love with Bertha Minnix (played by Mia Wasikowska), the daughter of a priest.
