Adapted from the prison notes of the gang leader, Mino Kozo, and the novel by the author, Iizaki Koichi. After being released from prison, Masaharu Yamanaka (played by Shinya Kitaro) had a free meal, which led to a conflict. Through this, he got to know the beautiful widow, Yasuko (played by Iko Kaji), and became a disciple of the Muraoka Gumi. Otomo Seiichi (played by Shinichi Chiba), a young cadre of the Otomo Federation, a rival gang of the Muraoka Gumi, was dissatisfied with the peace talks between his faction and its opponents. He then set up the Otomo Gumi and launched a series of attacks on the Muraoka Gumi. Yamanaka rose up to fight back and was eventually imprisoned for murder. The leader of the Muraoka Gumi (played by Kazuhiro Nana) then betrothed Yasuko to someone else. Upon learning the news, Yamanaka escaped from prison and demanded an explanation, but was cleverly deceived by Muraoka. Muraoka, taking advantage of the guilt and loyalty in the mountains, ordered him to hunt down Otomo Seiichi. In the mountains, he set out on a path of no return without hesitation...[Collapse]
