Sam (played by Billy Crudup) is a successful president of an advertising company. An accident takes the life of his son Josh (played by Miles Heizer). This sudden blow throws Sam into despair, and he gives up everything he has. Hiding in his own sailboat, he lives on heavy drinking every day. By chance, Sam unexpectedly discovered several songs written by Josh before his death. The songs made Sam feel as if he had returned to the wonderful era when the father and son were both crazy about music. Sam decided to let Josh's life continue through music. He learned the songs composed by his son and played and sang them by himself in the bar. Sam's sincere singing attracted a young man named Quentin (played by Anton Yelchin), and the two hit it off and formed a band, specializing in performing the songs composed by Josh.[Collapse]
