Japanese actress Chiaki Kuriyama has been confirmed to play the leading role in the new film "The Legend of the Hometown of the Sowed Traveler" directed by Tetsuo Shinohara. Kuriyama will make her debut as a government official. This is Kuriyama's first time starring in a film since "GS Paradise" (2008), after a gap of six years. In addition, popular actors such as Kenta Kiritani, Takashi Miura, Koji Toyohara, and Miyuki Tanimura, who are known for their individuality, will also star together. This film takes agriculture, the primary industry, as its theme and is the second installment following "The Traveler Who Sows the Seeds" (directed by the late director Toshio Shioya), starring Takanori Jinai, which was released in 2012. Kuriyama plays Keiko Kamino, an official of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries who returns to Japan from the United States. In order to understand the current state of Japanese agriculture, Keiko goes to Tanro Island as a regional investigator to conduct research. On the island, she meets two brothers, a young farmer, Takashi Toyoshima (played by Kenta Kiriya), and a fisherman, Wataru Toyoshima (played by Takashi Miura). Due to the death of their father, conflicts arise between the Toyoshima brothers. Through Hui Zi's patient communication with the two brothers, the knot in their hearts was gradually untied.[Collapse]
