Sir Wilfield (Charles?), a renowned criminal defense lawyer in London Charles Laughton (played by Laughton) received treatment for heart disease, but his body was still weak. On his first day at home to recuperate, the nurse strictly supervised him to take medicine and strictly prohibited him from smoking and drinking. The butler even specially built an elevator for him to make it easier for him to go upstairs. However, all the care and attention had no effect on this rebellious and sharp-tongued lawyer at all. Instead, a lawsuit made him feel extremely excited. Lawyer Mayhugh and client Wall (Tyrone?) Tyrone Power (played by Bao Hua) paid a visit and invited him to come out of retirement to take legal action. It turned out that Wall met the rich woman and they got along very well. Although the servant was full of contempt for the egg beater he invented, the rich woman was full of love for him and even revised his will, leaving 80,000 pounds to him. However, the rich woman was brutally murdered. So, Wall became the prime suspect of the police. His only witness was his wife, Christine (Marlene?) (Played by Marlene Dietrich), however, the coldness and composure of the latter when she visited made Sir Wafi suspect that there was something else going on. Behind the perplexing cases lie a series of interlocking secrets that cannot be disclosed... This film is adapted from Agatha? Christie's novel of the same name.[Collapse]
