The story takes place in Glasgow in 1973. For the boy James (played by William Eadie), this summer was not easy. The scorching sun made him unable to muster up any energy, and the large-scale strike by the cleaners instantly turned the streets into garbage dumps piled high with putridy garbage. Of course, none of these are the most important. What keeps James up all night is the death of his friend Ryan (played by Thomas McTaggart), whose death is closely related to his own.
