During the Fourth Middle East War in 1973, an Israeli fighter jet carrying a nuclear weapon was shot down in Syria, and the nuclear bomb was subsequently buried by time and sandstorms. However, 29 years later, the nuclear bomb was dug up by a civilian couple and sold at a low price to arms dealers. Eventually, it was peddled to terrorists who were planning a nuclear explosion at a bustling gathering place in the United States and framing Russia, with the intention of provoking a new round of world war. The young and alert CIA intelligence analyst Jack Ryan (played by Ben Affleck) sensed something amiss when meeting with the new president of Russia and quickly discovered the terrorists' shocking conspiracy through his informants. However, Ryan's judgment was not taken seriously by the bureau. At a loss, he gained the trust and cooperation of the experienced and wise old analysis consultant William Cabot (played by Morgan Freeman). But with the efforts of just the two of them, could they find the nuclear bomb before the terrorists could strike and prevent this devastating tragedy from happening? This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by American military writer Tom Clancy.[Collapse]
