The film is adapted from a true event. The story takes place on a small island called Basteri in Norway, where many young prisoners are detained. The youngest is only 11 years old and the oldest is no more than 18. Every day, in this closed and oppressive environment, children are forced to do overwork because only in this way can they get just enough food to fill their stomachs. Here, beating and scolding prisoners is a common occurrence, and it's all because of a minor mistake, sometimes without even a reason. In such a bad environment, the prisoners were tamed and no one thought of resisting. Seventeen-year-old Erling (played by Benjamin Helstad) has just arrived at this Devil's island, where he is serving his sentence. The cruel life on the island made Erling feel desperate. When the oppression of the jailers exceeded the critical point and led to a tragedy, it was Erling who led his companions to launch a violent resistance. Just as Erling seized control of the island, a 150-man army dispatched by the Norwegian government to the island was rapidly approaching.[Collapse]
