One night, Julian (played by Mike Vogel), who was taking a bath, suddenly received a call from his good friend Terry (played by Daniel Pino). On the other end of the phone, Terry, in a fit of rage, claimed that his fiancee Joan (played by Brittany Murphy) was unfaithful to him. Terry followed Joan to a dilapidated "River View" inn and witnessed her walk into Room 507 with the man she was meeting privately. The agitated Terry told Julian that he was waiting for him in Room 508 across from the hotel lobby and had already brought a revolver, ready to carry out his revenge plan.
