Jun Shinozuka (played by Atsushi Shinohara) 's wife died in a series of indiscriminate murders several years ago. Although the murderer was captured, he was given an exemption from death because of a mental health assessment report. Over the years, Jun Shinozuka worked hard and used all his savings to hire an expensive lawyer, just to get justice for his wife. But things didn't go as planned. Even the lawyer advised him to give up. With no hope for life, Jun Shinozuka thought of death. Takahashi Tomoko (played by Tomoko Shijima) lives under the same roof with her husband and mother-in-law. Her husband's indifference and her mother-in-law's contempt make Tomoko spend every day in depression and loneliness.
