This film is a biopic about two great French symbolist poets, Verlaine and Rimbaud, and most of its content is based on real historical records. In 1871, the 17-year-old poet Rimbaud (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) accepted the invitation of the then renowned poet Verlan (played by David Thewlis) and went to Paris. At that time, Wei LAN was already married and his wife came from a wealthy family. But he was simply infatuated with this arrogant, eccentric and unrestrained Rambo. As a result, he left his wife and wandered to London with Rambo, where they lived together and led a wild and poor life. During the two crazy years of cohabitation, the two chased each other, hurt each other and had constant disputes. In 1873, during the last dispute, Verlan shot and wounded Rimbaud, was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison. Afterwards, Rimbaud returned to his hometown alone and wandered around, experiencing a lot of hardships and even selling arms. Eventually, he passed away at the age of 37 in Marseille due to illness.[Collapse]
