Rose, a single mother from Ivory Coast, Africa, moved to the suburbs of Paris with her two sons, Jean and Ogist. From the 1980s to the present, this family has gone through formation and disintegration, transcending time and space, and together they have rediscovered family affection and memories. The film is divided into three chapters to tell the growth story of the mother and son over the past three decades. It respectively approaches the various hardships behind this ordinary family's efforts to integrate into life in a foreign land from the perspectives of the mother, the eldest son and the youngest son. Rose hopes to give her children the best life and also pursues personal value. However, when it comes to balancing herself and her family, she often feels powerless. Sometimes, her efforts to integrate into the local mainstream society are not understood by her children. When my elder brother reached adolescence, the lack of fatherly love also made him unsure of how to handle his emotions, gradually closing himself off. Ogist, the younger brother, witnessed the changes in his family during his growth and was deeply disappointed with his elder brother's decision to be sent away. After reaching adulthood, he chose to live alone, but his heart remained lonely.[Collapse]
