This film tells the story of how the principal of a kindergarten guides three habitual offenders onto the right path. Coincidentally, the lovely Trochkin and the dangerous thief Dozen look just like twin brothers. The police asked him to go deep into the Dozen criminal gang to investigate the place where they hid the stolen goods. But the fact that Zhen Dozen had escaped from prison made things even more complicated. This film is classified as a New Year's comedy because the most touching plot where the fugitive admits that his lifestyle is wrong happens precisely at the time of bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new. Mr. Lucky is not merely a New Year comedy; in fact, this film is regarded as one of the best Soviet movies. There are no exact statistics, but subjectively speaking, this film is the one that has produced the most famous quotes among Soviet films, with a rough estimate of over 150. A memorial bronze statue of Evgeniy Leonov's portrayal of Dozen has been built opposite the Moscow Film Studio. Almost no one in Russia can fail to recognize this famous actor and the character in the movie plot on the bronze statue. Interestingly, the relevant authorities were reluctant to bring the film to the big screen due to the large amount of prison slang in it. Eventually, it was Leonid Brezhnev, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, who personally made the decision to allow the film to be released.[Collapse]
