Later on, Yumi got married and had children, leading a poor but happy life. One day, her husband, Yufu (played by Tadanobu Asano), passed away unexpectedly. After being widowed for several years, Yumiko, with her young son, married Mino (played by Goshi Naito) in a remote small village, surrounded by mountains and the sea.
