Zhou Ruofen (Zhang Ai Jia) is a successful fashion designer. On the eve of her fashion show, her six-year-old son, Xiao Wei, suddenly went missing. Xiao Wei and his friends usually play sword-fighting games, so he often carries a wooden sword with him. Detective Zheng Zhong (Eddie), who is in charge of investigating this case, discovers during his investigation that there is a hidden conspiracy in it... This film is the first feature film directed by Taiwanese up-and-coming director Ko Yi-cheng, starring Zhang Ai-jia in 1983's "The Child with the Sword". In 1983, the Taiwan branch of New Art City hired Zhang Ai Jia as its director. After taking office, Zhang Ai Jia formulated a production policy of "separating Taiwan and Hong Kong", adopted a different production strategy from that of the head office, and shot "Taiwanese local art films". She hired young and middle-aged directors and produced four films with very unique themes and forms: Lin Qingjie's "On and Off the Stage", Ke Yizheng's "The Child with a Sword", Yang Deshang's "A Day at the Beach" and Yu Kan-ping's "Taking the Wrong Bus". These films have received unanimous praise from film critics in Taiwan and Hong Kong, making the Taiwan branch of New Art City an important platform for nurturing new Taiwanese films.[Collapse]
