In 1968, Hong Yan and Li Yuanchao fell in love despite the obstacles of their family backgrounds. They eloped and forged their files to join the Construction Corps. After reaching the frontier, Hongyan became pregnant and the entire incident was exposed. Five years later, a fire broke out in Death Valley.
