During the Qianlong period, the Red Flower Society rose to prominence, attempting to overthrow the rule of the Manchu Qing Dynasty. The leader of the Red Flower Society, Yu Wanting, sneaked into the forbidden palace and reported that Emperor Qianlong (played by Andy Lau) was originally of Han origin.
