An elderly couple had no children and were very sad about it. One day, the husband dug up a human-shaped tree root and gave it to his wife as a child for fun. But to their surprise, the human-shaped tree root actually came to life. The couple were overjoyed and called it Otiko. Otiko was clearly a child with a good appetite.
