The film "The Islander" tells the story of Wang Jicai (played by Liu Ye) and his wife Wang Shihua (played by Gong Zhe) who have been guarding the small border island of Kaishan Island for 32 years. Wang Jicai was the director of the Kaishan Island Militia Outpost in Guanyun County, Jiangsu Province before his death. He and his wife made the island their home and lived by the sea, devoting their beautiful youth to the motherland's sea
