On the night of the Spring Festival holiday, the bar street in the city center was bustling and noisy. As soon as Mr. Wu (played by Andy Lau), a Hong Kong film star, stepped out of the bar, he was kidnapped at gun by a gang led by Zhang Hua (played by Wang Qianyuan), who was posing as a police officer, and taken to a secluded courtyard in the suburbs. Mr. Wu unexpectedly discovered that the kidnappers had also taken another hostage, Xiao Dou (played by CAI Lu). After some negotiations with Zhang Hua, Mr. Wu managed to pull Xiao Dou back from the brink of death. The two began a thrilling 20-hour journey of fighting for survival and relying on each other. Upon receiving the report, the police promptly organized their strongest force. Criminal police Captain Xing Feng (played by Liu Ye) and Cao Gang (played by Wu Ruofu) joined forces to carry out the investigation. But the cunning and arrogant kidnapper Zhang Hua has a strong ability to counterinvestigate and is unruly towards his accomplices and hostages. He goes out alone to hand over the ransom to Mr. Wu's friend (played by Lin Xue). But when he got the ransom, he instructed his accomplices to kill the hostages by nine o 'clock at night, regardless of whether they could get the ransom or not. After several rounds of investigation and confrontation, the police got track of Zhang Hua's whereabouts. Xing Feng and Cao Gang cooperated precisely and captured Zhang Hua in an extremely dangerous situation. There were still two hours left before the kidnappers had agreed on the time to tear up the ticket. Nine o 'clock at night was approaching. Xing Feng and Cao Gang once again joined forces to engage in a mental battle with the dying Zhang Hua. They found a breakthrough at the last moment, but Zhang Hua's accomplices planned to kill him early... The film is adapted from the "Wu Ruofu Kidnapping Case" in 2004.[Collapse]
