Elephant Man (John? John Hurt (played by Hurt) is a congenital malformation patient. His face looks like that of an elephant, and thus he got his name. The elephant man has always been exploited by the profit-driven circus owner and taken around the world for touring performances, suffering inhumane abuse. The experiences endured by the elephant man would be inconceivable to social celebrities, yet the optimistic and strong elephant man took them on. It was not until one day that the elephant man met a young English doctor (Anthony? (played by Anthony Hopkins), out of compassion and the ethics of a doctor, after signing an "adoption" agreement with the circus owner, he brought the elephant man back to the hospital for research. In the hospital, the elephant man once again felt the warmth of humanity, and the doctor also forged a deep friendship with him in their interactions. He could no longer bear to part with this "abandoned child of God". But the circus owner, blinded by greed, took the elephant man back with his men. Did the elephant man's new life come to an end?[Collapse]
