The samurai Kwanzo was renowned as the "Gun Saint" within the domain and was particularly favored by women for his handsome appearance. The samurai Ban no Cheng always strived to compete with the Triad of power for supremacy. However, in times of peace, the samurai only hoped that the successor of the feudal Lord would be born smoothly so as to preserve their samurai status and muddles through. First-class masters like Kwanzo and Bannosei had no place to show their talents. They could only compete for the qualification of "true tea ceremony" at the grand ceremony celebrating the Lord of the domain to determine who was superior. The tea ceremony master's wife of the two, Ai (played by Shima Iwashita), has a crush on Quan SAN. At the third watch of the night, she confesses the ultimate secret of the true terrace to Quan SAN. Unexpectedly, Ban Zhi Cheng snatches their belts as evidence of adultery. Although Quan SAN and CAI had no real deal, they fled overnight at CAI's repeated demands. All along the way, Quan SAN was unable to fully accept Ai's declaration of love.
