The story takes place in 2029. By then, the X-Men had long disbanded, and as one of the few remaining mutants, Wolverine Logan (portrayed by Hugh Jackman) and Caliban (portrayed by Stephen Merchant) take care of the elderly Professor X (portrayed by Patrick Stewart). Due to aging, Professor X has lost control of his superpowers. If he doesn't rely on drugs, his superpowers will get out of control and cause irreparable disasters worldwide. Not only that, Wolverine's self-healing ability has gradually weakened over time, and his physical strength and power have long been far from what they used to be. One day, a strange woman found Wolverine and entrusted him with a girl named Laura (played by Dafne Keen), asking him to send Laura to the "Eden" located on the border of Canada. What Logan didn't expect was that Laura was actually an artificial mutant cultivated by implanting his own genes, and in the legendary Garden of Eden, there was a group of children with similar circumstances to Laura.
