"The Outlaws in the Rye" is adapted from the biography "JD Salinger A Life" written by Kenneth Slawenski and directed and written by Danny Strong. The entire film centers around Salinger's creation of the novel "The Catcher in the Rye", which has influenced several generations of Americans and left Salinger's name forever in the world of literature. However, Salinger himself was very low-key and mysterious. He only wrote this one novel in his lifetime. After becoming famous, he bought over 90 acres of land near a small hill by the river in the countryside of New Hampshire, built a small house on the top of the mountain, and led a secluded life. He passed away at his home in New Hampshire on January 27, 2010, at the age of 91. The Rebel in the Rye will present Salinger's rebellious youth, his experience of joining the military in World War II, his love and hate, and his spiritual awakening.[Collapse]
