Maddie (played by Barry Pepper) has a father, Benny (played by Dennis Hopper), who is a powerful New York gang leader. Benny hopes that Maddie will follow in his father's footsteps and develop the gang into a family culture. Unfortunately, Maddie is born weak and timid. Even the most basic test for joining a gang - killing one person - he couldn't pass. Helplessly, he had no choice but to release his son back into society and become an ordinary person. However, Maddy soon discovered that due to his father's "reputation", he could no longer survive in society on his own. With no other choice, he had to return to Benny's side.
