In 1241, the Mongol army led by Genghis Khan's sons marched westward, and wherever they went, the people suffered greatly. When they reached the Carpathian Mountains, the local hunters, the Belkut brothers, secretly entered the camp in Mongolia and released the hostages they had taken. The enraged Mongolian general decided to take retaliatory measures and destroy the local settlements of the Carpathians. A traitor among the locals told the Mongols about the secret passage in the mountains, but a small group of mountain hunters led by the Belkut brothers had their own plan to prevent the Mongols' attack.
