In 1348, the Black Death spread throughout Europe, with corpses strewn everywhere and the streets filled with starving corpses in various countries. In this dark age when everyone is on edge, the young English missionary Osman (played by Eddie Redmayne) still tries to hold fast to his faith and post. Just at this moment, Knight Orick (played by Sean Bean) led his men to the church where Osman was. The cause was that the bishop heard that no one in a certain village near the Danviz Forest had been infected with the plague, so he sent Olick to investigate the situation. As the village was close to Osman's hometown where he grew up, he volunteered to be Olick's guide. In fact, Olick had other intentions on this trip. It is said that the people of that village turned away from God, firmly believed in cults, held strange rituals and even called the dead back to the human world.
