This film, through the experiences of three generations of intellectuals, uses an epic approach to depict the magnificent struggle history of contemporary Chinese science and educators in the 20th century, and creates an outstanding artistic group based on the creative prototypes of Qian Xuesen, Hua Luogeng, Deng Jiaxian, Qian Sanqiang, Zhu Ziqing, Zhou Peiyuan, Wu Youxun and others. It vividly recreates the period from the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression at Tsinghua and Peking University to the war-torn Southwest Associated University, and then to the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
