Iranian director Mark Mabaf, a regular at international film festivals, depicts a ousted dictatorship president who flees with his little grandson, disguising himself as a poor man and hiding at the bottom of society, encountering families and individuals that are in tatters due to his terrifying rule. Should he be hanged after all? Burn to death? Beheading? Or dance to the democracy that the masses long for? This film was selected as the opening film of the 2014 Venice Film Festival.
